"Whether working with a novice or an accomplished student, Jennifer Allen is a uniquely gifted teacher. She observes closely and can suggest the slightest shifts – breathe more deeply, change your posture or reconsider fingering and phrasing – that bring alive the music. Perhaps my middle name is “anxious” so I appreciate how she gently works with me without the least bit of chastisement. I love as well that we share how our families are doing, that occasionally her adult students gather to play together, and that many of us join in a Tanglewood concert taking in the wonder of Yo-Yo Ma or Astrid Schween." - Adele from Wendell, MA
"My daughter is so excited for her cello lesson each week and is improving fast. Not only do we enjoy listening to her practice, but we also see the confidence she is gaining by her success with the cello carry over to other aspects of her life. My daughter is on the autism spectrum and finding activities where she can excel can be a challenge. Jennifer Allen is able to make the cello accessible because she is a flexible teacher who is always able to work around frustrations to find successes to build on. " - Heather
"Jen is a solid, caring, and thoughtful Cello teacher - just the right combination of dedication, challenge, and warmth our son needs. We so value what she brings to him and to our whole family through her lessons and coaching. She is a role model who demonstrates what a professional musician does, how one thinks, practices, and continually works to refine and develop the craft. Anyone would be lucky to have Jen as a teacher!" - Janet Kaplan Bucciarelli
